20 Things You Don’t Know About Me

Yesterday was my 20th birthday, so in honor of my 20 years, (so old) I thought I would share 20 things that y’all might not know about me.

1. I am left handed

This is almost always my fun fact about myself when I need one for those “get to know each other” things on the first day of class. It’s kind of a lame fun fact, but I still use it anyways.

2. When I was in 5th grade, I auditioned to be on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader

As much as I would love to tell y’all that you are currently reading the blog of a very smart 5th grader, you aren’t. I didn’t make it on the show. But I did try.

3. Until I was 7, my only life plans were to be a mermaid

I had no other interests, I was going to be a mermaid.

4. My favorite flower is a pink peony

It’s incredibly basic, but they are just so pretty.

5. My favorite movie is still to this day The Little Mermaid

I know you are all shocked that I, the girl who’s only life plans were to be a mermaid, loved this movie as a child. This movie was my childhood and it will probably always be my favorite movie.

6. I am a certified scuba diver

Again, I wanted to be a mermaid. This is about as close as you can get. I started diving when I was 8, and the coolest place I ever dove was in the giant aquarium in Epcot at Disney World.

7. Riley almost exclusively calls me Beans

The story behind this one is that I spell my name different than most people, so autocorrect will almost always change Breana to Beans when you type it. She thought it was so funny and so I eventually just became Beans.

8. As a child I was scared of almost everything including: tape recorders, anything fluffy, and dinosaur t-shirts.

Tape recorders played scary story tapes and I was not okay with that. I don’t really know why I was so scared of fluffy things. The dinosaur shirt one is kind of a funny story. This boy in my class at preschool wore this dinosaur shirt, and I was apparently terrified of it. Like screaming and crying scared. So he had to go home and change, and then the teacher had to let everyone’s parents know that dinosaur shirts were no longer allowed because Breana is too scared of them.

my love for gingham and bows obviously started early

9. My sauce preference at Chick-fil-a is Polynesian

It is the best sauce they have. Try it next time.

10. I can’t whistle.

So many people have tried to teach me, but I just can’t do it.

Riley said I had to put this in here because it is her favorite baby picture of me

11. I wish I could sing, but unfortunately, (for me as well as my friends) I am tone deaf.

Okay, I am not 100% sure that I am tone deaf, but I took a few online tests that confirmed my suspicions. I am taking the word of those tests and my friends and just assuming I am.

12. I don’t play music in the car when I drive

Most of the time, I drive in silence. This might be because I am such a bad driver that I need to fully concentrate on driving, but idk. I do love blasting music and singing and dancing if someone else is driving though.

13. If I could have any superpower, I would be invisible.

I just think it would be fun to spy on people.

14. I am terrified of the dentist. (and reptiles/amphibians)

I hate going to the dentist, and will avoid it at all costs. I have panic attacks when I have to go, and even thinking about the dentist gives me anxiety. I don’t like slimy creepy crawlers. They freak me out. I don’t want to see them, I don’t want to touch them, I don’t want to be around them.

15. I have chronic migraine headaches

Some weeks, I get them everyday. I started getting headaches almost 7 years ago. At first, I didn’t know what was causing them, or have the medicine to stop them. I missed 100 days of school when I was 9th grade because of my migraines. I know how to manage them better now, but I still have them pretty frequently.

anti-social since birth

16. I get personally offended when people say mean things about my favorite food places.

Leave McDonald’s alone. I don’t care if it isn’t real meat, it is delicious.

17. I had never tried mashed potatoes until about a year ago.

When I was really young I think I tried a bite of our school’s mashed potatoes. I didn’t like them, so I just decided that mashed potatoes are gross. I never had them again until last year. Mashed potatoes are delicious.

18. I grew up doing dance and theatre.

I started dancing when I was 3. When I was 8, I decided that I wanted to be a prima ballerina (forget being a mermaid) and that was pretty much the plan until I was in high school. I quit dancing at my studios (yes plural I was dedicated) to focus on high school dance team. This is still a pretty big regret.  I also did theatre. This came from my lifelong love of musicals. I was in my first musical when I was 6. Throughout high school I was in all of the school musicals, and I did competitive improv acting. (pretty shocking considering how shy I am, I know)

19. I despise scary movies.

I am definitely in the minority on this one. Everyone loves scary movies. I just don’t get them. Why would I pay to be scared? I don’t like them, and I think they are stupid. I also feel this way about haunted houses.

20. Since I can remember, I have wanted to move to New York City.

No matter what I wanted to be when I grew up, (mermaid, ballerina, actress) I knew that is where I wanted to go to do it. Now, I am not sure what exactly I want to do, but I do know that I will be doing whatever it is in my favorite city.

Now you all know 20 new things about me (and you got to see some baby pictures). Thanks for reading y’all!

xoxo, Breana

Interesting. Reading your list reminded me of some moments of my past. Even though there are twelve or so years between us, I also have a picture of myself in an Ariel costume and I performed in theatre for high school and college. It was neat learning that a fellow blogger had a similar upbringing.
