Y’all. Don’t let these pictures fool you. I may look like I’m just having a grand ole’ time twirling around in my cute little dress, but GIRL. It was 98 degrees with 85% humidity when we took these pictures. I was dying. My hair was sticking to my forehead like no other and I had to stop and take a break about every two frames. Lightroom is my savior!
I thought I would switch it up today from the usual talking about my outfit and talk about some things that might help you to get to know me better! There are A LOT of things I can’t live without, (seriously, you should see how much I pack for a weekend trip!) but I’ve narrowed it down to ten for y’all, because we don’t have all day 😉
Lipstick always makes me feel more put-together. Leaving the house without lipstick feels so odd to me, like I’m naked! It is seriously the best magic trick out there. It can make you look like you put way more effort into getting ready than you actually did. For summer, bright lipstick is a must for me! I love love love hot pinks and bright reds.
2. A Good Book
I’m a huge book nerd. I go through books really fast, so I always have to have a new one on hand! I love the feeling and the smell of a brand new hardback, but recently I’ve been getting more and more into Audible. It does take me quite a bit longer to actually get through a book, but it is nice to be able to ‘read’ hands free! I’ve been listening to The Chemist by Stephanie Meyer while I drive, and I’ve really enjoyed it. Keep an eye out on the blog for a post with some more book recommendations next week 😉
My portable charger saves my life on a daily basis. I originally ordered it for our New York Trip, (and it was definitely necessary) but now I use it almost every day! I spend way too much time on social media and I don’t know how to get anywhere, AKA maps are my best friend. You need one of these! The one I linked above can charge your phone a full five times before it needs to be charged, which is a major win.
Quay is my absolute favorite brand on sunglasses. They have so many style and color options, and for such a good price. I think I may own way too many Quay sunglasses, because I recently had to purchase a display rack for all of my sunglasses… Oops! That being said, I have my eye on these for my next purchase! They are such a good dupe for the Gucci pair that everyone is wearing.
This is a serious addiction for me. I could probably write a novel about how much I love this chapstick. If there was some sort of chapstick rehab, my friends and family would have sent me there by now! I keep one in my purse, one in my car, one in my bedside table, one where I put my makeup on in the morning….basically anywhere that I can put a Burt’s Bees, you can bet there’s one there. I can’t stand the feeling of chapped or dry lips, so I am constantly applying this I have tried every chapstick and lip balm- from high end to drugstore- and Burt’s Bees is what I always come back to!
I LOVE my tumbler. I’ve never been much of a fan of reusable water bottles, until I got this thing! I took mine to the beach this past week and there was still ice in it 8+ hours later. It is a great inexpensive alternative to a Yeti cup!
7. Alarm App
I know this is such an odd thing to not be able to live without, but I think the Sleep Cycle app might be the most used app on my phone. I love that it can track my sleep cycles, and then wake me up when I’m in my lightest cycle. It gives you a 30 minute window for your wake-up time, and I notice a huge difference in using this versus the default alarm app. I always wake up feeling more rested when I use Sleep Cycle!
8. A Good Denim
The perfect pair of jeans are a necessity for life. A good pair of jeans can take your outfit from ‘I just woke up and rolled out of bed’ to ‘I look effortlessly flawless’ in five seconds. Who doesn’t want that?! This pair is a life change y’all! They are cropped on me, (I’m 5’9) which I love and they are so comfortable I can almost pretend that they’re leggings. Plus, they are 40% right now!
I seriously wouldn’t be able to function without my planer. Being in college, a planner is a necessity. This planner is the only one I’ve ever had that I love the layout in. It’s simple, but it allows you to plan everything to the hour, which is so helpful for the school year. It also gives you a quote each day, which is encouraging to read!
10. Eyelash Primer
I have always been under the impression that eyelash primers don’t work, or that they just made your eyelashes gray and clumpy, but this one is so good. Every time I wear it, people ask if I am wearing false lashes! I actually bought it on accident thinking it was a different mascara, but now I’ve repurchased because it is just. that. good. Do yourself a favor and run, don’t walk to Sephora to pick this up!
Thanks for reading!
