I feel like if I had to choose a word to describe my ideal 2018, it would be *inspired*. I want this year to be my most creative yet – and yours too! I’ve been really inspired lately by some different things, so I thought I would share a few things that have really been helping out my creative side.
Like most 20-ish girls with an iPhone, I spend entirely too much time on Instagram (Seriously. One week I looked at my battery usage and I had spent 10 hours on Instagram in the past 7 days. I have a problem.) Lately, though, I’ve been unfollowing some of my usual favorite accounts (buh-bye @drunkpeopledoingthings) and following some new accounts for some fresh inspo. Self-Help Aisle at Barnes & Noble
Stay with me here. I think self-help books have the worst reputation, and I honestly can’t understand why. Lord knows we all need a lot of help in life, and some of these books are GAME CHANGERS. Next time you hit up a bookstore, steer yourself to the self-help aisle and find some goodness. You can thank me later. Here are my recent favorites:
7 Habits of Highly Effective People & 7 Habits Workbook: Ok, so I read 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens for my first assignment in the my very first class of freshman year, and it changed my life (shoutout to you Mrs. Mercer.) Because I am such a super adult nowadays, I grabbed the “people” version last week. I am already obsessed, and feeling effective AF.
Get Your Sh*t Together: This book is amazing. If you want to get your life together, but you also need to laugh while you do it because you handle difficult times with humor, buy this.
